CaseLaw Review (CLR) invites submissions on case and law reviews for consideration and publication.

CaseLaw Review (CLR) is a peer-reviewed journal that focuses on diverse areas of case and law reviews. The Journal is supported by an esteemed academic review board drawn from outstanding legal experts worldwide. Meet our editors here.

CLR places emphasis on reviews of case law but also accepts other original articles that can influence law and development, judicial decisions, law reform, and other domestic and foreign policy measures that impact governance especially in Nigeria and Africa.

CLR offers an exceptional opportunity for academics and practitioners to publish and influence law and the legal system. CLR publishes online on a rolling basis throughout the year as a free open-access journal.

Guidelines for Contributors:

  1. Submissions must be in English, Spelling (British or American) should be consistent throughout.
  2. The work must be original and not published or submitted for consideration elsewhere.
  3. All manuscripts should be in Times New Roman 12 point font, doubled-spaced, with footnotes numbered consecutively. The document must be formatted with wide margins throughout.
  4. CLR accepts articles and reviews of not more than 8,000 words, including footnotes and appendices.
  5. The Word count of the text and the footnotes on the manuscript is to be provided.
  6. An Abstracts of not more than 250 words should be included.
  7. Manuscripts should not contain any reference to the author’s personal or professional identity.
  8. Titles of papers with authors details should be submitted on a separate document.
  9. Where an article reviews an unreported judicial decision, the author should also submit a certified true copy of the full judgment in PDF format.
  10. Citations throughout the work and references should conform to the latest edition of the Oxford Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA).
  11. All submissions should be in Word Format (.doc) or (.docx).
